Dream Sports has announced that it will discontinue Dream Money on July 30. Customers can continue accessing their investments, but some services will stop before the platform closes

The company informed users that while the platform is shutting down, investments made through Dream Money will remain safe. Mutual funds, fixed deposits and digital gold will continue to be held with the respective financial institutions and partners.

For existing users, the immediate priority is understanding the timelines.

Customers holding digital gold can sell or withdraw their holdings through Dream Money until July 15. Any balance remaining after that date will automatically be transferred to Augmont, which partnered with Dream Money to offer the product.

Mutual fund investors have until July 30 to redeem or manage their investments through the app. Once Dream Money goes offline, investors can continue accessing the same investments directly through the respective asset management companies (AMCs). The investments themselves are not being closed.

The same applies to fixed deposits. Customers can withdraw or prematurely close their deposits through the platform until July 31. Those who do nothing will continue holding the deposits with the partner bank, which will take over servicing the account.

Loan services, however, have already been discontinued. Dream Money has stopped handling existing loan accounts and is no longer accepting fresh loan applications.

The company has also suspended new customer registrations and lump-sum investments with immediate effect. Existing SIPs will be cancelled from July 7, meaning investors who wish to continue investing regularly will need to register new SIPs through another platform or directly with the fund house.

Dream Money was launched in August 2025 as Dream Sports looked to expand beyond fantasy sports into financial services. The platform allowed users to invest in mutual funds, buy digital gold, open fixed deposits and apply for loans through a single app.

Its closure comes at a time when India’s real-money gaming industry is undergoing major regulatory changes. The sector has faced tighter rules, including the government’s ban on real-money gaming and fantasy sports. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court also upheld the retrospective levy of 28% GST on the full face value of bets placed on such platforms.

Those changes have forced several gaming companies to rethink their expansion plans and focus on their core businesses.

Dream Sports said the shutdown only affects the Dream Money platform and not the underlying investments. Customers who miss the withdrawal deadlines will still retain ownership of their investments through the respective financial institutions.

If you have invested through Dream Money, there’s no immediate reason to panic. Your money isn’t disappearing with the app. The important step is to note the deadlines, especially if you hold digital gold or have active SIPs, and ensure you’re managing your investments directly through the relevant partner after Dream Money shuts down.
