Only four large-cap mutual fund schemes have featured among the top performers across the 3-year, 5-year and 10-year periods, according to an analysis of Value Research data covering 181 direct large-cap funds.
The four schemes are Nippon India Large Cap Fund – Direct Plan, Invesco India Large Cap Fund – Direct Plan, ICICI Prudential Large Cap Fund – Direct Plan and DSP Large Cap Fund – Direct Plan.
The comparison is based on returns as of July 8, 2026, and includes only funds carrying a 5-star Value Research rating.
Nippon India Large Cap Fund delivered the highest annualised return over the 10 years at 15.11%, ahead of the BSE 100 TRI return of 13.02% and the category average of 12.56%.
Invesco India Largecap Fund and ICICI Prudential Large Cap Fund each posted 14.25% annualised returns over the same period, while DSP Large Cap Fund returned 11.87%.

Over the five-year period, Nippon India Large Cap Fund again led the group with an annualised return of 15.83%, followed by Invesco India Largecap Fund at 13.92%, ICICI Prudential Large Cap Fund at 13.83%, and DSP Large Cap Fund at 11.31%.
For the three years, Invesco India Largecap Fund topped the list with an annualised return of 14.72%. Nippon India Large Cap Fund returned 13.51%, while ICICI Prudential Large Cap Fund and DSP Large Cap Fund delivered 13.25% and 13.00%, respectively.
The benchmark BSE 100 TRI generated 10.13% over the same three-year period.
SIP performance also varied across the four schemes. Nippon India Large Cap Fund recorded a 15.54% annualised return over a 10-year SIP, followed by Invesco India Large Cap Fund at 14.95%, ICICI Prudential Large Cap Fund at 14.53%, and DSP Large Cap Fund at 12.52%.
According to Value Research, all four schemes are classified under the Very High Risk category. The analysis also shows that each fund reported a higher Sharpe Ratio, Sortino Ratio and Alpha than the broader large-cap category over the measured period.
